A Hidden Gem – One of the Best Hotels I've Ever Stayed At!
This was genuinely one of the best hotels I've ever stayed at, and I would return without hesitation!
Our room was incredibly comfortable, with a window overlooking a lovely, plant-filled atrium that gave the space a pleasant, airy feeling. Everything felt thoughtfully designed to make our stay as relaxing as possible.
The location was another major advantage. The hotel was literally just a 5–10-minute walk from the city centre, making it incredibly convenient to explore Strasbourg on foot while still enjoying a peaceful place to retreat to at the end of the day.
The staff were exceptional. Every single person we encountered greeted us warmly, made us feel welcome, and went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable.
One of my absolute favourite features was the hotel's beautiful historic lounge, with its traditional wooden panelling, fascinating antique furniture, and wonderful old-world charm. I particularly loved the remarkable antique armchairs and the feeling of being surrounded by pieces of history. It was such a cosy and atmospheric place to enjoy a beer after a long day of exploring Strasbourg, and the drinks were very reasonably priced. If only those walls could talk!
I also loved the hotel's thoughtful approach to sustainability. Towels were not automatically replaced if you left them hanging, and there were no unnecessary disposable slippers, which I consider a welcome change from the wasteful practices of many hotels.
Another fantastic detail was the complimentary water dispenser, where guests could refill their bottles with either still or sparkling water. This was incredibly convenient, especially considering how expensive bottled water can be in Strasbourg! It was also a wonderful way to reduce unnecessary plastic waste.
Breakfast was absolutely delicious, featuring products from local producers and bakeries. I really appreciated the emphasis on local quality rather than the usual generic hotel breakfast.
And I have to mention the bed! The pillows were wonderfully large, soft, and fluffy, while the mattress had the perfect level of firmness. I genuinely had the best night's sleep I've had all year!
Even the little things were taken care of, such as umbrellas available for guests to borrow during rainy weather.
What made this hotel so special was the combination of modern comfort, historic character, genuine hospitality, and environmental awareness. It had personality and warmth, something that is often missing from larger, more impersonal hotels.
A true hidden gem in Strasbourg. I would happily stay here again and recommend it wholeheartedly!
