Best Western Plus Hôtel Monopole Métropole
Not far from the train station 👍 Very convenient for visiting attractions 👍 I like it 👍
Clean room, friendly staff, and a full breakfast with excellent sweet and savory options.
The hotel is well located, close to the city center and in a quiet area.
The only downside is having to leave your car keys at reception when using the hotel garage. Be aware that the parking lot access is very narrow and may not be suitable for all cars.

Unfortunately I need to give Best Western Plus
Monopole Métropole Strasbourg 1 star. I arrived very late due to a delayed train on a Wednesday evening. The reception staff was nice enough initially and the room was clean but the window had been left open. The problem arouse when I took off my shoes. The majority of the carpet in the room was wet which I noticed immediately thorough my socks. Upon investigation it appeared that the water was coming from the heating radiator next to the bed. I immediately got my bags off the floor and went to the front desk. They would not come up and investigate and told me there were no other rooms and the only thing they could do is offer me free breakfast or a drink at the bar. It was already about midnight at the time or I would have asked for a refund and found another hotel. After requesting it I finally got them to give me a large blanket that I could use to make a somewhat dry path between the bed and the bathroom.
There are two reasons I made this a 1 star review vs. 2 stars. First, I find it very suspicious that the last room they had available had the water leak (I also noticed the control valve had recently been replaced and was not painted to match the rest of the pluming). Therefore I think it is likely there is a history with this issue in the room. Second, I found the offer of a free drink at the bar or breakfast somewhat insulting. Dealing with my bags being wet from being left on the floor, wet socks, and having to walk a path I made on the floor with a blanket is not what I'm looking for when I pay for a 4 star hotel. I think at a minimum I should have been offered half off what I paid for the room for dealing with this.
